Chalk Couture - Your Favorite Up and Coming Home Decor Items

** This is a sponsored post by Chalk Couture. I received product in exchange for writing this review. I have used their item I received and truly love it. **

I love creating my own artistic items, but I also enjoy helping get the word out about up and coming items.  I enjoy going to craft fairs, boutiques, and expos to find out about new artists and products.  I attended quite a few last fall and remember meeting a nice lady from Chalk Couture.  She talked with me about their fun company and showed me their products.  She recently posted in a Facebook Group that she was ready to start a Kickstarter campaign to expand their production and I thought it would be a great time to tell you all about their products.

Waldorf-Inspired Chicken Salad - Flourish & Knot Guest Post

Today I have a guest post for you from a wonderful blogger I met through the Bloggers Brags party we co-host on Monday's.

Hi there! My name is Sarah and when I'm not cooking and DIYing, you'll find me blogging at Flourish & Knot. I began blogging as a way of chronicling my adventures as a first-time homeowner, and it quickly became a regular outlet for my creative projects. Flourish & Knot runs the gamut of make-it-yourself: crafts, recipes, home decor, sewing, gardening, floral arranging, and entertaining. If I can do it myself, it’s fair game!

I want to thank Ali for inviting me to share my Waldorf-Inspired Chicken Salad with you on Home Crafts by Ali. I had fun creating this recipe, which is a refreshing take on a traditional Waldorf salad.

11 Sweet and Tart Lemonade Recipes to Try

One of the drinks I can't get enough of is lemonade.  It is so refreshing on a hot summer day.  I like lemonade by itself, or with wonderful fruit flavors added.  Today is National Lemonade Day, so I decided to put all of my favorite lemonade recipes together.  I hope you like them as much as I do!

Working On My Creative PhD - Projects half Done

This post is going to be a peek into the life of a crafter, namely my life.  Being creative is wonderful when I know what I want to work on and I am passionate about something.  Sometimes I start working on a project and I just can't stop.  I have been known to have a one track mind.

Book Review: Learning to See Creatively

Disclaimer: I received this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for writing this review.  All thoughts are my own and are not swayed by receiving a free copy of this book.  This post may contain affiliate links.

Recently I received the book "Learning to See Creatively - Design, Color, and Composition in Photography" by Bryan Peterson.  In this book Bryan Peterson shares over 40 years of photography experience.  Bryan challenges you, the reader, to change your perspective so that you can see differently, which in turn broadens your scope of photography.  Throughout the book he provides examples of pictures to illustrate the points he is trying to make.

Blog Income, Stats, & Goals - Month 7

My post last month for my statistics for Month 6 was the most popular post from July.  I guess people out there like to see the growth and change that happens month to month for bloggers.  I know I love to read monthly stats for blogs to see what is working for other people and to find things that I can use for myself.

I spent most of last week spending time with my sister-in-law who was visiting.  I did have time to post one fun sewing project I wanted to share with all of you.  It is the 2nd link for this weeks link-up.  It was such a fun project and you can use it for more than just pencils.

DIY Fabric Zippered Pencil Pouch

I wanted to make something special for my girls that they could use for school this year.  I decided to sew this pencil pouch for them.  It will be a fun back-to-school gift for them.  I'm pretty sure that my older daughter will ask for another one to hold her art supplies separately.
