Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

A few weeks ago I won tickets to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival thanks to Lou Lou Girls.  We have been so busy the past week and a half that we didn't get the change to go until the last day of the festival.  It was a cold and rainy day, but my girls were so good about being positive and not complaining.  In fact, they loved jumping in all the puddles and looking for worms on the pathways.

The gardens at Thanksgiving Point are always amazing to visit.  The great thing is that they have 15 different themed gardens on their 55-acre property.  A few years ago we lived closer to Thanksgiving Point and bought a year membership and visited quite often.  During April and the first part of May the gardens are even more beautiful because of the 250,000 tulips that they have planted.  There are all different colors and styles.  As you walk around the property, you come upon beautiful groupings of the flowers.

We only visited about 1/3 of the gardens today.  The rain came down heavier and our toes were cold and squishy in our tennis shoes.  I told the girls we will come back when the weather is nicer so we can see the rest.  We did visit the Rose Garden, the waterfalls, Monet's Bridge, Monet's Pond, the Grand Allee, and the Amphitheater.

If you are in the area, I would advise you to make a trip to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens.  Either on a sunny day or during a rain shower it is beautiful.  If you aren't able to walk around all of the gardens, you can rent a golf cart or a Segway machine to make your visit easier.

    1. Katie, you should definitely take the time to go there! I know I posted a lot about the area that we visited on Saturday, but they actually have a great childrens garden too. It has a few hedge mazes (easy to get through), some learning areas, a few play areas an underwater garden and more!

  5. Thanksgiving Point is about 30-40 minutes south of Salt Lake City, Utah. We have these beautiful gardens in a mountain desert area. It is like walking into another world during a visit there.

    1. Thank you for you nice comments. It really is a lovely place. I grew up in western Washington, so I know Seattle quite well. I loved visiting Alki Beach.
