You Are My Sunshine Board tutorial

My Thrift Store Find for this week started out pretty boring.  I found a wood boards that looked like it was supposed to be the front of a drawer. I bought it for $1.00  A friend gave me a few pieces of vinyl and I decided to use one on my board. Read on to see how it turned out.

Here are my supplies.
I painted two coast of Apple Barrel White gloss paint onto the board.  Then it was time to peel the backing off the vinyl.  I didn't have a lot of luck trying, so my husband (who used to work with signs and banners) helped me out. The trick is the angle that you hold the backing as you peel it off the vinyl tape.
After I placed the vinyl onto the board, it was time to remove the tape covering. I pulled back the tape. You need to make sure you are careful when you are working with the small items like the dots.
I ended up with this super cute board!
Now I'm not so scared of working with vinyl.  I'm looking forward to using my Cricut Explore machine for some fun projects soon with vinyl.

    1. Thanks for visiting Vanessa. The Cricut is fun to use. I've heard that Silhouette's have more free items than Cricut offers.
